Urban Efficiency II: Seven Innovative City Programmes for Existing Building Energy Efficiency
Urban Efficiency II: Seven Innovative City Programmes for Existing Building Energy Efficiency builds on research in the successful predecessor “Urban Efficiency” Report and captures seven new detailed city case studies from C40 member cities. It is primarily targeted at city-level policy makers and decision makers across the world. The report increases the resource and evidence base available to support cities understanding of the characteristics and impact of innovative city programmes emerging across C40 cities, that advance operational energy efficiency and retrofitting in existing, privately owned buildings.
The Low Carbon Investment Landscape in C40 Cities
The Low Carbon Investment Landscape in C40 Cities is an analysis of the sustainable infrastructure projects currently in development across C40 cities. The pipeline is based on self-reported data from C40 cities and highlights the tremendous potential for investment and collaboration with the private sector to deliver a climate safe future.
Measurement & Planning
Consistent measurement is the first step in effective management. The Measurement and Planning Initiative, housed within C40 Research, focuses on building capacity in member cities to tackle climate change strategically through the measurement of GHG emissions and climate impacts, annual reporting of climate data, and development of climate action plans. These efforts are provided through three workstreams: Measurement; Reporting; and Climate Risk and Adaptation Framework and Taxonomy. Most recently, the Initiative launched an interactive dashboard with four unique ways to explore historical GHG emissions of C40 cities reported via the standardized GPC protocol.
Case Study Library
C40 case studies highlight the wealth of sustainable and urban innovation underway in our member cities. We invite you to explore the library to discover topics of interest to your city.
In the lead-up to COP21 in Paris, C40 and Sustainia have a shared mission to showcase 100 leading city solutions to climate change. The resulting publication, Cities100, will highlight the need for adapting new policies and celebrate the range of possible actions.
Open Data Portal
The Open Data Portal provides direct, interactive access to the wealth of statistical information provided annually by C40 cities. Through the Open Data Portal, it is possible to access and investigate a number of data sets on C40 cities, including GHG Emissions Inventories, Reduction Targets, and Citywide Risks. The Open Data Portal is another step towards providing increased access and availability regarding the impact and ambition of C40 cities.
